Physical Recovery from Breast Augmentation Surgery:

Once the surgery is completed, you will be transferred to the recovery room, and a document, with several post-operative tips mentioned on it, will be handed over to you. It may take 3-4 weeks for your body to recover from this plastic surgery. This is the average recovery time for mild cases. In severe cases, fuller recovery can take up to 6-8 weeks so be prepared.

For the next few hours after the surgery, you will experience mild tightness, difficulty in breathing, and muscle aches in your chest. It is normal and will settle down within 5-6 hours. Some patients also reported unsteadiness and dizziness following the surgery, this may have occurred because of general anesthesia. Before you leave the clinic, a surgical bra will be given to you to wear. These bras are designed to help in the recovery process. Call a friend or a family member so that he/she can drive you home because driving can put unnecessary pressure on your breast which could cause complications for you.

During the first week of the recovery, you will experience discomfort, swelling, and bruising in your chest region. Use prescribed painkillers and other medications to control it. Normally, the stitched site bleeds a little, but if the bleeding does not stop contact your healthcare practitioner immediately.

After the first week of the surgery, you will notice a huge reduction in the pain and discomfort. Swelling goes away slowly and gradually so it will be there until your complete recovery. You will see the final results of the surgery after your body fully heals. It is important to ask the doctor before resuming normal activities.
